Caribbean Sonic Innovation

The steelpan was born out of an urgent need to create a new sound. We draw inspiration from the stories of those early innovators to bring a new generation of Caribbean innovators to the fore. Through high-fidelity capture, active archiving, and creative production, we make culture audible, accessible, and alive.

Our Work: Recording

Recording the Living Pulse of Culture

Capturing moments of cultural evolution – Preserving Moments of Social Transformation.

Using high-fidelity tools and evolving techniques, we preserve moments of cultural transformation with clarity, care and long term vision.

The panyard is one of the most central and dynamic spaces of music creation and we are committed to documenting the true beauty of these sonic landscapes. At the core the panyard is a space of community innovation and interaction and WeCapture is taking an active interest in documenting the steelpan at this phase of its evolution. This is an important exercise for both the present and the future of steelpan music playing and production and it is a deep honour for us to be able to be part of the work of creating a living archive.

Our Work: Active Archive

Past, Present, Future, in Motion: across multi dimensional space.

An active archive bringing Caribbean voices into education, culture, and everyday life.

We have created a living archive, one that doesn’t simply sit on a shelf. Our Active Archive is a transformative tool that preserves sound and creates tools for education, creativity, and connection. Through streaming releases, research access, public events, and creative reuse, WeCapture ensures that Caribbean voices are not only remembered but continuously reimagined and shared.

Our Work: An Immersive Experience

Bringing Culture to Life Through Immersive Sound.

Where Caribbean sound becomes an immersive, multi-sensory journey.

WeCapture explores the future of listening by using formats like Dolby Atmos and 360° VR audio to present culture in bold, immersive ways. These technologies let audiences step inside the sound—experiencing Caribbean music and stories in spatial, multi-sensory environments that deepen emotional connection and engagement.
