World Steelpan Month 2025

World Steelpan Month 2025 will come to a climax on Sunday, August 31st from 6 pm , with Pan on the Avenue, a street-side celebration of the instrument that stands at the heart of Trinidad and Tobago’s identity. Fittingly staged on Independence Day, the event brings the nation’s premier cultural innovation to the streets of the city in this all night celebration.

Steelbands from across the country will parade along the Avenue, before playing at Adam Smith Square. The event offers a chance for citizens and visitors alike to experience pan in its most authentic form — on the road, among the people, and as a living soundtrack of independence.

Pan on the Avenue will feature performances from Panorama single pan, medium and large bands including San Juan East Side, Siparia Deltones, Desperadoes, Invaders, Phase II, Renegades and many others.

This year’s Independence Day will therefore be more than a commemoration of nationhood — it will also be a salute to the ingenuity, resilience, and artistry of the communities who forged the steelpan and carried it to the world.
